Ralph 'Sonny' Barger
Sonny Barger was the most prominent member and de facto international leader of the Hells Angels. He joined the Oakland chapter in 1957 and spearheaded the club's transition from a loose collection of California outlaws to a highly centralized international organization. He represented the public face of the club for over half a century, appearing in books, documentaries, and films.

Donald Eugene 'Mother' Chambers
Donald Chambers was a Marine veteran who founded the Bandidos in 1966. He designed the club's patch, utilizing a caricature of a Mexican bandit carrying a pistol and machete, and colored the patches scarlet and gold to honor the Marine Corps. In 1972, Chambers was arrested and convicted of a double murder related to a drug dispute, receiving a life sentence, after which he passed leadership to Ronald 'Ronnie' Hodge.
